A first-place prize among the largest of any PGA Section event is the cornerstone of a new golf tournament exclusively for PGA Professionals at the 2009 PGA Fall Expo. The PGA Fall Expo $25,000 Pro Challenge will feature a first place prize of $10,000, second place prize of $3,000 and third place prize of $1,000 with pay out to 50% of the field (based on a 100-team field). The new tournament will be staged simultaneously to the PGA Fall Expo Amateur Shoot-Out (formerly the PGA Fall Expo Golf Outing and Product Testing event) on August 31 at the award-winning Las Vegas Paiute Golf Resort.
Two-person PGA Professional teams will have the opportunity to compete in a four-ball stroke play tournament on Paiute’s Wolf golf course, the longest course in Nevada at 7,604 yards and a multiple winner of Golfweek’s Best Public-Access Courses in America. The $25,000 purse and 50% pay out is based on 100 PGA Professional teams. Registration is now open for the 8 a.m. and 1 p.m. starting times at www.pgaexpo.com.
While the PGA Fall Expo $25,000 Pro Challenge is open exclusively to PGA Professionals, amateurs can compete in the PGA Fall Expo Amateur Shoot-Out featuring two shot-gun scramble events for four-person amateur teams. Both events award the first place teams a prize of $1,000 worth of merchandise credits to use at the PGA Fall Expo. The second place teams will receive a $500 merchandise credit and the third place teams a $400 merchandise credit. In addition, there will be more than $5,000 worth of PGA Fall Expo merchandise credits offered through various events during the tournament and coinciding with Outdoor Demo Day activities. The PGA Fall Expo Amateur Shoot-Out will be contested on the award-winning Sun Mountain golf course at Paiute. Registration also is now open for the 8:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. starting times at www.pgaexpo.com.
